Mexican Visas

Visa requirements for travelers to Mexico may be found at the Instituto Nacional de Migración. If you are a citizen of the following countries you will be required to present a visa to travel to Mexico. If you are a citizen of the following countries you DO NOT need a visa to travel to Mexico.

Mexico allows, in all the points of entry to the national territory, the entrance of foreigners of any nationality, which purpose of the trip to the country is tourism, transit or business and are holders of a valid visa issued by the United States of America, without holding a Mexican visa.

Also, Mexico grants visa exemption to all foreigners, regardless of their nationality, whose airplane flies from USA to Mexican territory, only if the purpose of their visit is tourism, transit or business.

Mexican visas continue to be valid and issued to those foreign nationals who require them in case they do not hold a valid visa from the USA or travel to Mexico for purposes other than tourism, business or transit to a third country. We encourage contacting the Mexican Consulate in your country to make sure the need of a visa to travel to Mexico.

All requests for invitation letters to the SHMII-5 Conference should be directed to the co-chair of the Organizing Committee (Roberto Gómez), who will prepare individual invitation letters for visa applications. Persons requesting these letters should provide specific details of their accepted paper and the details of the person or institution to which the letter is to be addressed.
